The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged residents of Gombe State to patronize locally produced products and services in order to help grow the state economy.
The Acting state Director of NOA, Adaline Waye Patari, who made the call while briefing newsmen, said patronizing locally made products would help to create job opportunities for rural dwellers.
She added it will also ensure that jobs for which local expertise are available are not taken over by foreigners.
Patari explained that an Executive Order number 5 signed by President Muhammadu Buhari had made it mandatory for all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to patronize made in Nigeria goods and services.
The acting director stated that over-dependence on imported goods weakens the rural economy, create unemployment and increase the rate of crime in the society.
Therefore she called on the relevant stakeholders to patronize the small and medium scales enterprises to help the business of producers of locally made products to thrive.
