Gombe politicians warned against hate speech

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on political parties and candidates in Gombe State to ensure that political campaigns are conducted peacefully and devoid of abusive language.

The Head of Voter Education and Publicity Department at Gombe INEC office, Nuhu Ibrahim, stated this in a statement he issued to newsmen on the lifting of the ban on political activities ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He said as campaigns in public by political parties and candidates became effective last Wednesday, politicians should conduct themselves in line with the Electoral Act 2022, which was clear on conduct prohibited during campaigns.
