The member representing Dukku/Nafada federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hajiya Aishatu Jibril Dukku, has provided medical assistance to over 5000 less privileged persons in her constituency.
The lawmaker stated this after inspecting free medical outreach she facilitated for people in her constituency in Dukku and Nafada LGAs of Gombe State, in collaboration with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA).

Speaking at the flag-off of the free medical outreach in Dukku, she said the mission focused on general services from consultation, tests to surgeries where necessary for her constituents.
The lawmaker said services rendered by over 40 medical doctors team included detection of glaucoma and cataracts, where surgeries were conducted for several patients as well as the provision of medical glasses and drugs.
According to her, the three-day medical outreach, which held simultaneously at the General Hospitals in Dukku and Nafada LGAs respectively, is part of her efforts to ensure healthy lives and promote the well-being of people in the constituency, especially the less privileged.
“This is my small contribution to save millions of children and the aged who die from preventable diseases and women who die during pregnancy and childbirth. The outreach was successful as a total of over 5000 patients have benefited from several medical services,” she said.
She added that government alone could not shoulder the responsibilities and therefore called on wealthy individuals and other politicians to complement the efforts of governments.
The Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Abdulkadir Haruna Rasheed, said the lawmaker has been providing the needed representation and commended her for the health intervention project.
