Gombe lawmaker intervenes in power supply, schools for constituency

Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, has embarked on the restoration of electricity to 23 communities of Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas of Gombe State.

The lawmaker also announced that he would facilitate the construction of 13 blocks of classrooms in 26 communities in the two local government areas.

Speaking at the flag-off of the two projects at the weekend in Lawanti and Shinga villages, Goje said electricity supply will soon be restored to the affected communities.

He said most of the communities benefited from the electrification projects and connected to the national grid either when he served as governor of the state or minister of state power.

He lamented that some of the communities had been without power supply for a long time, “due to lack of transformers, faulty electrical lines or broken poles conveying the electricity to the communities.”

Goje, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, also pledged to complete the abandoned rural electrification project in Dolli village and restore power supply to Kembu village, all of Akko LGA.
