Gombe State government has invested over N10 billion Naira in the provision of water across the state.
Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo stated this yesterday when he present a 2016 budget to the state House of Assembly.
He said government replaced water pipelines and extended reticulation to serve the needs of greater Gombe.
Dankwambo said government extended the Water Scheme to Kwami, Gadam,Bojude,Tappi,and Kom Fulata.
He said another area extended is Tunfure and government is working on extending it to the Gombe International airport.
Dankwambo said his administration “constructed over 350 kilometer cumulative length of asphalted roads, over 500 kilometers cumulative length of surfaced dress roads,53 kilometer culative length of walk ways, and is working on 280 kilometers of roads with many nearing completion.”
He said, “51 kilometers roads have been provided with street lights, and government constructs many bridges including the six – span kuri bridge to connect communities that were hitherto cut – off which government spent over N79 billion.
provision of infra- structure like roads, Water and electricity in rural areas will reduce rural urban migration significantly increase the sense of belonging of the people and stimulate economic and social activities in these areas,” he said.
