The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has picked Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau as his running mate.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Naomi Joel Awak, who disclosed this to Daily Trust in Gombe, said that Dr Jatau was chosen unanimously by the governorship candidate after a wide consultation with the party leadership and other stakeholders.
Naomi added that the party and its flag bearer decided on Jatau because of his loyalty, sacrifice and widespread acceptance in the Gombe-South senatorial district.
Dr Manassah Jatau served in the Nigerian Customs Service and retired as a Deputy Controller General.
Before his venture into politics, Dr Jatau who holds a PhD in Sociology taught at the Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State as senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology.
Political observers in the state said the selection of Jatau was a strategic move by the APC to sway voters from Gombe-south zone in 2019. The zone is seen as a political stronghold of the PDP.
