No fewer than 2000 physically challenged, less privileged and women benefitted from the empowerment tools distributed by the first lady of Gombe State, Hajiya Asmau Inuwa Yahaya.
Flagging-off the distribution yesterday in Gombe, Asmau Yahaya, said the beneficiaries were selected because of their peculiarity, in order to support them, especially with the current economic hardship bedeviling the country.

The first lady reiterated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment towards ensuring even and equitable distribution of dividends of democracy to people and residents of the state.
She emphasised that the first lady’s office would continue to assist women to improve their livelihood, by developing their potentials to become financially self-reliant.
In a remark, the state’s Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Naomi Joel Awak, commended the governor’s wife for her passion in helping the poor and vulnerable groups by providing them with requisite skills.
Some of the beneficiaries, appreciated the continued assistance of Asmau Yahaya to the less privileged.
Our correspondent reports that items distributed includes tricycles for the physically challenged, grinding and sawing machines, among others.
