Gombe state governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has inaugurated 21 commissioners and 15 special advisers, calling on them to hit the ground running in managing their new ministries.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony on Saturday at the Pantami Township Stadium, the governor urged them to work as a team towards a single goal of improving the social, economic and political conditions of the people, saying there is no time to waste.

“You are carefully selected with the expectation that you will help drive our development agenda with vigour. The expectations are very high and there is no time to waste. You need to hit the ground running.

“As you are all aware, our administration rode to power on a tremendous public goodwill and support. The biggest task before us is for us to work together as a team in order to pursue our common objectives of improving the social, economic and political conditions of our people. Therefore, we cannot afford to fail them at all cost,” he said.

The newly inaugurated commissioners and their portfolios are: Barrister Zubairu Muhammad Umar (Justice), Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo Waziri (Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs) Dr Aishatu Usman Maigari (Science, Technology & Innovation), Muhammad Danladi Adamu (Lands & Survey), Dr Ahmed Mohammed Gana (Health), Muhammad Gambo Magaji (Finance & Economic Development and Usman Jahun Biri (Rural, Community Development & Cooperatives).

Others include Nasiru Aliyu Mohammed (Commerce, Industry and Tourism), Shehu Ibrahim Madugu (Energy & Mineral Resources), Mrs Naomi J.J. Awak (Women Affairs and Social Development), Mr Julius Ishaya (Youth & Sports Development), Meshack Audu Lauco (Higher Education), Mela Audu Nunghe (Special Duties), and Engineer Abubakar Bappah (Works & Transport).

Also inaugurated are Mijinyawa Yahaya (Water Resources), Dauda Batari Zambuk (Internal Security & Ethical Orientation), Dr Habu Dahiru (Education), Dr Hussaina Muhammad Goje (Environment & Forest Resources), Mohammed Magaji Gettado (Agriculture & Animal Husbandry), Ibrahim Alhassan Kwami (Information & Culture) and Adamu Kupto Dishi (Housing & Urban Development).

Governor Yahaya also inaugurated 15 Special Advisers. They are:  Dr Ishiyaku M. Mohammed (Budget, Planning, & Development Partners Coordination), Dijatu Bappah (Social Investment Programme), Garba Jijji Gadam (Inter-Governmental Relations), Godfrey Namu Birma (Security), CP Mohammed Wakili (Rtd) (Security), Colonel Sani Adamu Depsia (Rtd) (Security), Dahiru Mohammed Kala (Health) and Hamma Adama Ali Kumo (Legislative Matters).

Others are Mohammed Bello (Political), Anas Ibrahim Kubalu (Public Communication & Strategy), Auwalu Abdullahi (Community Relations & Ethical Orientation), Usman Aliyu Garry (Abuja Liaison), Barrister Caleb Ubale (Legal Matters), Umar Bello (Inter-Party Relations), and Damina Sardauna (Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs).
