Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Wednesday called on the Muslim faithful to uphold the teachings and values instilled during Ramadan and integrate them into their daily lives for the betterment of society.
Governor Yahaya stated this in a goodwill message to felicitate with the Muslim Ummah in the state as they join others across the globe to celebrate the Eid el-Fitr, marking the conclusion of Ramadan.
He urged the people of the state towards collective prayer, unity and resilience amid prevailing economic challenges, assuring that the current difficulties are transient and that better days lie ahead, adding that Nigeria will emerge stronger.
He also enjoined the Muslim Ummah to sustain the devotion and other acts of worship observed during the holy month as well as imbibe the lessons learnt during Tafsir sessions for the good of the religion, society and humanity.

Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya has joined the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, and other Muslim Ummah in the state to observe the two units Eid el-Fitr prayer to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Eid prayer, held at the main Eid ground in Gombe, was led by the Deputy Chief Imam of Gombe, Malam Aliyu Hammari, and attended by top government functionaries and thousands of Muslim faithful.
Our correspondent reports that the governor also led members of his cabinet and other dignitaries to watch a mini durbar procession at the emir’s palace, as part of the Sallah celebration in Gombe Emirate.
