The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim Kurba, has Tuesday been impeached by members of the assembly.
He was impeached by 16 out of the 24 members of the assembly through a voice votes.

The house proceedings leading to the impeachment of the embattled speaker was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Siddi Buba, Kwami West constituency.

A member representing Akko Central constituency, Abubakar Muhammad Luggerewol, was unanimously elected by the 15 members to be the new speaker.
He was sworn-in by the Deputy Speaker, Siddi Buba.
