A former Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Manga Musa Bojude, has died on Monday evening, aged 67.
Daily Trust learnt that the late Bojude passed on at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe following a protracted illness.
The late speaker’s remains were buried at the Gombe Main Cemetery along Bajoga road, after a funeral prayer at the FTH mosque around 5:00pm today.
The prayer was attended by the current speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Abubakar Nono, state Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Hassan Muhammadu and the Senior District Head of Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Umar, among others.
Late Manga Bojude was the fourth speaker of the state assembly and served from 2007 to 2011 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the administration of former Governor Muhammad Danjuma Goje.
He was also a onetime Supervisory Councillor representing Bojude ward in the legislature of Kwami local government area of the state.
In 2011, he failed to secure his party’s ticket to re-contest for his seat to represent Kwami West state constituency at the assembly.
He was survived by wives, children and grandchildren.
