The Gombe State Executive Council has approved N715 million as 50 per cent counterpart funding for the 2021 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) intervention projects in the state.
In a statement issued Thursday, the Director General, Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Julius Ishaya Lepes, disclosed this after the 18th SEC meeting.

According to the statement, the meeting presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, approved the counterpart funding for the 2021 UBEC/SUBEB intervention project.
The council also approved N118.4m for the renovation and upgrading of the Cottage Hospital and Primary Health Centre in Kuri community of Yamaltu/Deba LGA to give maximum healthcare services to the people.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Usman Jafun Biri, said the council approved N177m for the payment of compensation to individuals whose lands had been allocated to the Federal University, Kashere; Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo; and the Golf Coast in Tukulma village of Akko Local Government Area.
