The Security Analysis Group Tuesday viewed the recent rating by the Global Terrorism Index (GTI), wherein Nigeria moved to the sixth position, as a welcome development.

The convener of the group, Abdullahi Gambo, said the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) was cheering and a morale booster for the troops making sacrifices to keep the country together.

He urged Nigerians to continue to support the military.

He expressed optimism that the nation would “emerge victorious over agents of disunity.”

It would be recalled that the GTI, published by the IEP, had indicated that Nigeria, Syria, and Somalia were the only nations, among the 10 most affected by terrorism, to get an improved score from 2020 to 2021.

The report said there was a decline in the number of terrorism-related deaths in Nigeria.
