Nigeria’s grandmaster of data, Globacom, at the weekend bagged the Best Customer Service Company of the Year award and its Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga won the Businessman of the Year category at the 3rd edition of Daar Awards held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The Awards’ panel of judges noted that Globacom had continued to distinguish itself as an innovative operator among the other players in the telecommunications sector, adding that Globacom was growing rapidly because of the “several attractive and user-friendly packages which offer a lot of appeal to pre-paid and post-paid phone users, thus making its services the most accessible and most competitive”.
It noted that Globacom was the first to launch the 4G LTE network nationwide, “ …offering instant efficient broadband internet to millions of Nigerians at very fast speed”.
On the Globacom Chairman’s award, the organisers explained that he was an extraordinary businessman who had made massive investments in critical sectors of the economy, thereby creating employment opportunities for thousands of people.
