GIZ, Abuja agency to boost MSMEs

The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has said that it will partner with the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) to promote the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the FCT.

GIZ disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at an industrial cluster development stakeholders’ forum under the GIZ-SEDIN programme.

In her opening remarks, Head of Component, Access to Market and Innovation at GIZ, Sina Uti Waziri, said, “The SEDIN programme started in 2012 in supporting MSMEs in creating jobs and employment. Subsequently, we decided that since our headquarters is here in Abuja, there is a need to expand our business community in the FCT.

“The event is about consultation with stakeholders to discuss challenges and find solutions to MSMEs and youth empowerment in the FCT.”

Alsos peaking, Bala Tsokwa, Team Lead, Rural Community Development at AEA, noted that it was high time MSMEs in the FCT were empowered and supported, adding that GIZ would support industrial development in the FCT which would transform the dynamic and evolving economic landscape of the FCT.
