FC Giwa midfielder Mohammed Saleh has commended the conduct of their fans during FA Cup final with Plateau United in which Giwa FC won 1-0.
While speaking with Daily Trust after their triumph, Saleh said the club dedicated the FA Cup glory to the fans and urged them to be the 12th man any time the club play their home games.
Saleh who scored in the first minute of the match, which they stoutly defended throughout the match, said it was exciting to be the state champions.
“It’s a good feeling winning our first trophy of the season and we will have to do our best to win the 2016 Federation Cup. We were dumped out of the Federation Cup last year by Kukuruku Dragons of Edo and I didn’t like how it happened, so we have made up our minds to do better this year.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to be state champions but it will be better if we can win it at the national level. Plateau United are a tough side who gave us a tough game but I’m happy we defeated them and now we are focused on the bigger challenge,” he said.
