Give me this mountain

Joshua 14:12-14 (NKJV), “Now, therefore, GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN of which the LORD spoke in that day… It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said. [13] And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. [14] Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.”

Caleb was one of the twelve spies Moses sent to spy the land of Canaan long before they took possession of it. He, along with Joshua, brought back a good report and Moses promised him the mountain area of Hebron for an inheritance. Forty-five years later, he came to Joshua to demand for it.

In the Old Testament Eleazar the priest, and Joshua divided the Promised Land among the children of Israel in an equitable way. Numbers 33:54. Galatians 3:29 says, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Ephesians 1:11 says we have obtained an inheritance in Christ.

4 Things God Does To Prosper You:

  1. Make someone leave an inheritance for you. This is not too common. The prodigal son went ahead of himself but he got into trouble.
  2. Open a new door. Launch you into something new and big.
  3. Multiply what you have. Enlarge your business, promotion with increase in income.
  4. Restore what is stolen from you.
  5. All of the above.

9 Keys To Receiving And Enjoying Your Inheritance

To be able to enjoy your Kingdom inheritance the following steps are vital:

  1. Be convinced in your mind that the inheritance belongs to you. Many have walked away from their inheritance because of ignorance. Study the scripture and find out what is yours. It is the Word that gives you an inheritance. Acts 20:32. For instance, healing is yours (Exodus 15:26; 23:25; Matthew 7:6). Wealth is yours (2Corinthians 8:9; Galatians 3:29; Genesis 12:1-3).
  2. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to your channel of supply. Let me show you what happens to someone who is not being guided by the Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 28:29, “And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.” On the other hand, Psalm 23:1 says, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” 2Chronicles 26:5, “And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.” Divine guidance terminates lack. It not only terminates lack, it leads to prosperity. Abraham was guided into riches. Peter was guided to ‘the deep’ where he made a net-breaking catch. It could be a particular career, a job, or a business. Peter had been toiling and taking nothing or little, but his fortune changed when he was divinely guided into the place where his breakthrough was. Luke 5:4-8
  3. Maintain a strong relationship with God. Joshua 14:14, [14] Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.” Remain in the presence of God through worship, through a lifestyle of praise. Remain connected to the Vine. We said last week that Your connectivity determines your productivity. You flourish, you thrive, you prosper when God is with you. Genesis 39:3, “And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.”
  4. Ask God for something big. Caleb asked for a mountain. We usually view mountains as obstacles to be removed. But here it represents a huge inheritance. Peter was asked to launch out into the deep. We need to build huge corporations, companies and empires to make huge sums of money for financing the Kingdom and its expansion. Let us put the wisdom of God to work to build large companies. Let’s go out into the marketplace and begin building brands, products, services and empires that are worth billions and in turn, give into the Gospel.
  5. Have faith for a mountain. Caleb believed the promise of God. He believed it was possible to possess his inheritance. Pray and believe you receive it. Mark 11:24. This is the key to answered prayer.
  6. Make a demand of yourself, others, and of the world. Go for your dream. Fight for what is yours. God has given you the victory. In Genesis 30, Jacob came to Laban to demand his due after serving him for 20 years. He would have left empty-handed if he hadn’t.

Genesis 30:25-26, “And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country. [26] GIVE ME MY WIVES AND MY CHILDREN, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.”

Do you know who is holding your wife, husband or children? Do you know who is keeping your wealth? Do you know the forces holding on to your business, breakthrough or promotion?

Jacob asked Laban, “… when shall I provide for mine own house also?” Genesis 30:30

You are growing older every day; when will you become financially independent? For how long will you continue to struggle with nothing to show for it?

It’s time to arise and fight!

Contend with the forces of darkness trying to prevent you from enjoying your portion in fierce spiritual warfare. Deuteronomy 2:24, “Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: BEGIN TO POSSESS IT, AND CONTEND WITH HIM IN BATTLE.” God is not the one delaying your breakthrough; it’s the devil and his agents. The battle is already decided in your favour but you have to arise and fight!

  1. Stay away from every form of uncleanness if you want to enjoy your inheritance. Ephesians 5:5 (NKJV). Proverbs 28:13, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
  2. Be persistent. Caleb insisted on obtaining the promise that was made to him 45 years earlier. Don’t give up on that prophecy or promise; it will surely come to pass if you keep on insisting. Stay in faith. Look not at the circumstances but the promise you are standing upon.
  3. Be a kingdom financier. Kingdom wealth is poured into the hands of Kingdom financiers. King Solomon was a Kingdom financier. He set up businesses, made so much money and built a magnificent temple unrivaled till today. He was a true Kingdom financier, not the ones who give, because they want to be blessed, but the ones who give because they have been blessed by God because they are dominating the marketplace and business world.

Every spiritual Amorite occupying your land falls now! Anyone having custody of your wealth releases it to you now! Anyone having custody of your wife, husband, child, etc., releases them to you now, in the Name of Jesus! Anything that will make the devil to rejoice in your life, let it be removed now, in the Name of Jesus. Anything that will make you a beggar in the evening of your life, let it be removed now, in the Name of Jesus!
