A 13-year-old girl was on Sunday found hanging inside her parents’ compound in Lambata, a community along the Suleja-Minna highway in Niger State.
The deceased, Na’ima Muhammed, was said to have been scolded and caned by her mother early in the day over some items seen in her possession.
A family source, who spoke with City & Crime, said the girl told her mother that she bought the items with N1,000 given to her by one of her uncles, which later turned out to be untrue.
“It was at that point that she disclosed the truth about how she got the money from a guest to the family, who had asked her to share it with her other siblings.
