The police in Niger State have arrested a 15-year-old girl, Fatima Ibrahim, of Tayi area of Minna for drug abuse and thuggery.
Fatima’s arrest reportedly led to the arrest of nine other suspects, including her boyfriend, who were allegedly among members of gangs responsible for unrest in Minna.

Parading the suspects, the state’s polce spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, warned parents and guardians to ensure firm grip and close monitoring of their wards as thuggery and drug abuse were on the rise.
He said the female suspect, Fatima, was arrested on a premises at Angwan-Daji where she was found sleeping under intoxication after residents laid a complaint.
Abiodun said during interrogation, Fatima confessed that she was kept in the premises by her 17-year-old boyfriend, Abdulrahman Yahuza, a.k.a. Mailace, who told her that he was going to Tayi area after receiving a call about a fight between miscreants of Bosso and Tayi areas at Tayi junction.
She further told the police that her boyfriend left to join the fight with a scissors and a knife and returned to tell her that they succeeded in the fight, having stabbed one of his enemies.
Abiodun said the suspects confessed to have participated in the fight at Tayi junction on July 16.
He gave the names of the other suspects as Alhassan Yau, a.k.a. Abba (15), Ahmed Yunusa (16), Yakubu Sani (15), Abdulganiu Bello (17), Kasimu Mohammed (23), Adamu Yahuza (16), all of Anguwan-Daji area.
Others are Yusuf Zubairu (19) of El-Amin Bakery, Tayi; and Yusuf Bala (18) of Keteren-Gwari, Minna.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include three cutlasses, two knives and one scissors.
