General elections: Gov Bello praises Corps members neutrality in Niger

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has commended Corps Member in the state for their neutrality during the general elections.

Governor Abubakar Bello gave the commendation in an address during the opening ceremony of the 2019 Batch A Orientation Course and swearing-in ceremony of Corps members deployed to the state at the Orientation Camp in Paiko, Paikoro local government area of the state.

Represented by the Commissioner of Water Resources, Alhaji Mamman Musa Bosso, Bello said the Corps members’ impartially during the exercise was a clear demonstration of their resolve to serve their fatherland and move it on the path of growth and development.

The Governor who reiterated government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Corps members posted to the state in collaboration with the security agencies, promised to accord them the support they needed to make their stay memorable.

He charged them to participate actively especially in their Community Development Service which is another avenue of interacting directly with Nigerlites especially at the rural level.

In her speech, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi explained that a total of 1, 990 Corps members registered at the Orientation Camp for the exercise. She said out of the number, 990 are female, while 999 are male.

Mrs Ajayi appealed to the state government to complete works on the permanent orientation camp for the use of the Corps members.
