The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila called on Muslims to use the Eid-El-Kabir period to rededicate themselves to Allah and pray for the country.
In a message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, he also urged Nigerians to embrace one another and be united irrespective of their differences for the progress of the country.
Gbajabiamila said there was need for prayers, especially at this time when the coronavirus pandemic is ravaging the world.
The Speaker said with prayers, the country would surmount the numerous challenges bedevilling the country, including insecurity.
He called on religious leaders to preach unity and peaceful coexistence among citizens at this time and always.
He further urged Muslims to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, generosity, brotherliness and accommodating nature of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
