I did not reject house offer for borehole — Gateman

About fortnight ago, the media was awash with the story that a gateman Musa Usman rejected the offer of a house as parting gift from his Indian employer and instead requested for a borehole to be constructed for his community.

However, in a chat with our reporter, Musa Usman Maigadi who hails from Giljimmi, a Fulani settlement in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State denied the report that he rejected the offer.

Mista Pagis and Malam Musa during the commissioning of the borehole.

He said his boss only visited his home town, and offered to construct a borehole as a kind gesture for the service he rendered to him. He added that he is still working with the man.

“I have been working with Mista Pagis for over 25 years in Lagos. I am his gateman and he has never found me wanting. He frequents India and many other places, but whenever he travels, he will come back and see everything intact the way he left them,” he said.

On the issue of purported report that he rejected a house for a borehole in his community, Musa Maigadi said, “that story is not truth. He never offered to build a house for me. And I am still working with him, let alone to talk about parting gift. So as far as I am concerned, that story is baseless”.
