Ganduje urges youths to embrace vocational training

Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has advised Nigerian youths to shift their focus from white-collar jobs towards vocational training and entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the one-week Progressive Enterprise Skills Development Training organised for 2,000 youths by APC National Youth Leader, Dr Dayo Israel, in Lagos, Ganduje emphasised the importance of acquiring practical skills early in life.

Represented by Chief Emma Eneukwu, Deputy National Chairman (South) of the APC, Ganduje urged youths to think innovatively and explore skill acquisition opportunities.

He highlighted the uncertainty surrounding civil service jobs and stressed the need for youths to become self-reliant through entrepreneurial ventures.

“You have to think outside the box. You have the time now to learn skills that will enable you to create products and offer valuable services to society,” Ganduje stated.

Dr Dayo Israel outlined the objectives of the training programme, which forms part of the APC’s four-year vision for youth development.

He emphasised the practical nature of the training, designed to impart skills that foster self-reliance and entrepreneurial spirit among participants.

“We have engaged experienced entrepreneurs to facilitate the training sessions, and a cash reward of N1 million awaits the winner of the competition at the end of the training,” he said.
