Following the recent action of irate Kano Pillars’ fans, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the purchase of a new bus for Katsina United.
It will be recalled that Kano Pillars’ fans destroyed a vehicle belonging to Katsina United and wreaked havoc during a football match between Kano and Katsina clubs, that took place in Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Abba Anwar, Ganduje expressed his dissatisfaction over the action.
“As a government we totally condemn this action and by the Grace of Allah, the genesis of it will be unravelled as we are raising a very powerful committee that will look into it.
“This action will not, in any way, harm the cordial relationship that has been existing between Kano and Katsina states. Kano and Katsina people are one and the same and will remain together forever.”
The management of Kano Pillars Football Club had on Sunday condemned the action of some of their team’s fans, who attacked Katsina United FC on Saturday in Kano.
The League Management Company also banned Kano Pillars Football Club from playing all their home games in Kano for the rest of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League season while imposing a N9 million fine on the club, over the brazen breach of the NPFL rules.
