However, in a visit to the scene of the incident on Wednesday, the state governor said, “Originally, this place should be a parking space only. It is too small for shop construction.”

Ganduje directed that the place be converted to a parking space, adding that a very powerful Technical Committee has been instituted to look into remote and immediate causes of the tragedy.

“We should know that from onset, any building should be designed and supervised by professionals. Within a period of one week, only this committee will submit its report and we will act on it most appropriately,” he stated.

He urged marketers to cooperate with workers who were excavating debris, adding that after excavating the scene properly, the government would immediately start providing a befitting parking space.
