Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared free education at all levels for the physically challenged persons in the state.
Delivering his acceptance speech at the May 29 celebration on Wednesday, Ganduje also promised free basic education for all school age children in the state.
Ganduje explained that tertiary education for Kano indigenes would be highly subsidized, adding that his administration would consolidate on the achievements he had recorded in his first tenure on education, agriculture, infrastructure and healthcare delivery.
He said his second term tenure would see the establishment of a new agency known as Kano State Small Town Water Supply Agency to carter for the water needs of communities in the rural areas.
The governor also promised to boost agriculture in the state with emphasis on raising the stakes of small scale farmers.
Ganduje reiterated his commitment to fight against corrupt practices, adding that his second term would ensure re-invigoration of the state anti-corruption agency for effective services.
He also promised to run an all-inclusive government irrespective of party affiliation, pointing out that the era of politicking was over.
