Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has appointed Ibrahim Galadima as the Acting Chairman, Kano Pillars with immediate effect.
In a statement his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, signed in his behalf, Ganduje said the replacement is part of the routine exercise in sports administration.
He said, “As Kano Pillars is facing more competition in National Premier League (NPL) it will be good to have leadership that could perfectly lead the Club.”
“Ibrahim Galadima, Chairman of Kano State Sports Commission, will now replace the current Chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Surajo Shu’aibu Yahaya, in an acting capacity, before the appointment of a substantive Chairman,” the statement read.
Daily Trust reports that the outgoing chairman, Jambul, has been in a fix with teeming supporters of the club and other stakeholders in the sport circle over allegations of mismanagement among other factors responsible for dragging the team back.
With the recent happening in a match between Pillars and Dakkada, Jambul was suspended and subsequently expelled from the 2022 NPFL season over assaulting an assistant referee while the club was fined by the LMC.
