The former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral IE Ibas, has formally handed over to his successor, Rear Admiral A. Z. Gambo as the new naval chief.
The event, which held at Navy headquarters in Abuja, had top echelons in the military in attendance.

In his valedictory speech, Ibas maintained that his administration as a naval boss had suppressed criminalities in the maritime sector.
Gambo was appointed on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari alongside Major-General Leo Irabor as Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru as Chief of Army Staff and Air-Vice Marshal I. O Amao as Chief of Air Staff.
