The Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, has led a six-man delegation of the federal government to Sokoto over the death of the Sardauna’s daughter, Hajiya Aisha, and the elder brother of Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar.
The delegation included the ministers of water resources, police affairs, justice and aviation as well as the president’s son, Yusuf Buhari.

They were received at the airport by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who led them to the Sultan’s palace where they delivered the president’s condolence message.
At the palace, Professor Gambari said the president was saddened by the two deaths and prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and Jannatul Firdaus.
Responding, Sultan Abubakar thanked the president for sending a high-powered delegation to condole with them over the losses.
They were also at the residence of the late Marafan Sokoto, Ahmad Danbaba where they condoled with Magajin Garin Sakkwato, Hassan Danbaba, over the death of his mother, Aisha.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, led the special prayer session in honour of the deceased.
