Galaxy Backbone (GBB) has won the Public Sector Connectivity Services Provider of the Year at the recent Nigeria Technology Innovation and Telecommunications Awards 2020.
In a statement, the company said this recognition is coming at a critical time when the world and indeed Nigeria is still going through the Coronavirus pandemic which has in many ways affected the economy and political operations.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, GBB rose to the task and met the challenges of the time, by providing the platform and personnel that enabled the smooth operations of government and by extension, the public sector.
Through this, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the apex making decision body of the nation has had 22 Virtual FEC meetings on the Network Connectivity and Unified Communications platform provided, managed by GBB.
The organisers of the award explained that Galaxy Backbone has played a critical role in accelerating digital transformation and adoption of modern technologies within a short time especially in the public sector.
The MD and Chief Executive of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Muhammad Abubakar, thanked the organisers for the recognition.
“On behalf of the management and staff of Galaxy Backbone, I would like to thank Instinct Wave and the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) for this award.
“We will continue to live up to our name as the digital platform for Network & Connectivity services in the nation’s public sector,” he said.
