Gains in the stocks of Airtel and other firms have sustained the improvement in the stock market as the market capitalisation increased by N390.2 billion to N18.9 trillion on Thursday.
At the close of trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Airtel Africa gained +10.0 per cent, Dangote Cement (+2.6%) and Zenith (+2.7%).

The benchmark index rose by 210 basis points (bps) to close at 36,239.62 points while the returns improved to 35%.
Activity level was mixed as traded volume declined by 47.1% to 343.6 million units while traded value surged by 90.2% to N4.3bn.
The most traded stocks by volume were FBNH (99.4m units), UBA (22.3m units) and Access (20.9m units) while Dangote cement (N1.3bn), FBNH (N700.4m) and Zenith (N388.7m) led by value.
Performance across sectors was bullish as all the indices closed in green (positive).
