Saleh received the membership card of his new party at his ward office in Gashua, Bade Local Government Area and declared that his movement to the PDP was necessary because the ruling ANPP in the state “had lost its bearing.”
He was appointed commissioner for housing in 2007 by late Governor Mamman Ali but was moved to the ministry of integrated rural development by Governor Ibrahim Gaidam last year.
Architect Saleh, whose posters for his aspiration to the Yobe North Senatorial seat flooded many parts of the state, said he was optimistic his new party will provide a level playing ground for political development.
“I was a very active participant in the infrustructural development of Yobe State especially in the last three years. I am proud of the landmarks which we are leaving behind in terms of educational advancement, housing, agriculture, health and in all the sectors.
“It is however unfortunate that, that pace of development is not being kept now,” he said.
