The governor on September 19, relieved six commissioners of their appointments for performing below expectations.
The governor who presided over the swearing-in at Government House, Damaturu said it had became imperative that the space left by the dropped members of the executive council be filled to ensure continuity in government.
Gaidam said the new commissioners were selected based on track records of previous services, honesty, integrity, dedication to service and commitment among other things, adding that they are among the best set of personalities to be members of the state executive council.
He noted that the interest of people of the state is paramount and therefore the new appointees  should ensure effective management and judicious use of public funds to get the best value in the provision of services, adding that they should work closely with their officers and staff to achieve the desired objective. The new commissioners and their portfolios are Engineer Mustapha Gajirima (Transport and Energy), Dr Mohammed Bello Kawuwa (Health), Alhaji Zannah Bunu Bularafa (Sports), Alhaji Mohammed Samaila Nguru (Higher Education), Alhaji Zannah Zakaria (Youth and Social Development), and Senator Adamu Talba (Agriculture).
