Gaidam swears-in Head of Service, 5 Permanent Secretaries

Yobe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam has sworn-in newly appointed Head of the Civil Service, Executive Chairman of the Pilgrims Commission, and five new Permanent Secretaries.

Governor Gaidam, who spoke at the swearing in ceremony on Monday in Damaturu, charged the new appointees to abide by their Oath of Allegiance and revitalize the system of governance in the state.

Gaidam said their appointments were purely based on their past records, hardwork, competence, honesty, loyalty and commitment to service.

“These sterling qualities informed government’s decision in your selection and subsequent appointments.  It is therefore our fervent hope that you would live up to expectation and strive to justify the confidence reposed on you by the government,” he said.

The governor also advised the appointees to make transparency, honesty and accountability their watchwords in their official conduct.

He also implored the Executive Chairman of the Pilgrims Commission to collaborate with staff, members of the Commission and other stakeholders to ensure early and adequate preparation for a hitch-free Hajj exercise.

Those sworn-in are the Head of the Civil Service, Usman Hassan Maraya, and Executive Chairman of the Pilgrims Commission, Bukar Kime.

Also, the five Permanent Secretaries are Mohammed B. Nura, (Public Service); Khadija Mohammed Alkali, (Ministry of Justice); Suleiman Bakura, (Ministry of Home Affairs Information and Culture); Babaji Galadima  (Ministry of Budget/Planning) and Tonga Betara (Civil Service  Commission).
