Gaidam donates N10.5m to Nigerian Legion

Yobe state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, yesterday announced a donation of N10 million on behalf of the state government to members of the Nigerian Legion at the launching of the Emblem Appeal Week, and directed the Ministry of Finance to pay them immediately. 

The governor also made a personal donation of N500, 000.00.

The Emblem Appeal Week is an annual event organised to pay tribute to the contributions of Nigerian soldiers who fought in the First and Second World Wars, the Nigerian Civil War, and the ongoing war against Boko Haram. 

“They fought the wars to save mankind from oppression and tyranny and to preserve the sovereignty and integrity of our great country, Nigeria. And they left behind loved ones, including wives, children, and dependents,” the governor said.
