Professor Abdullahi Bala, the deputy vice chancellor administration, Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna has been inaugurated as the 7the vice chancellor of the University.
Speaking shortly after his inauguration yesterday in Minna, Professor Bala said his administration will be guided by three cardinal principles of obeying the status of the university and the laws of the land, good governance and global best practices that will take the university to a greater height.
“We shall take decisions that are in the best interest of the university. We shall work assiduously and dispassionately toward assembling the best team to realize our set objectives,” he said.
He said although the university has witnessed tremendous growth and development especially in the last one and half decades, in the areas of staff and student population totaling 25,000 and now ranked 5th among the specialized university in Nigeria and 45th out of 4,245 universities in Africa, it however faced a lot of challenges.
