The Permanent Secretary of Ecological Fund Office (EFO) Dr Habiba Lawal has lamented the dearth of fund to tackle numerous ecological issues across the country.
Dr Lawal said her office has received over one N1trillion requests of ecological problems across the country, even as the available fund for the office was N15 billion per quarter and a total of N60 billion per annum.
Speaking at an interactive session with journalists yesterday in Abuja, Lawal said the country is faced with several ecological issues with meagre funds to tackle them, even as she regrets that while one problem was being solved another is being created.
She however said the little they have will be judiciously used to save communities ravaged by environmental disasters.
