The letter signed by MACBAN zonal chairman in Southern Kaduna, Alhaji  Haruna Usman, alleged that security agents deployed to Sanga Local Government Area on peace keeping assignment have violated public trust and resorted to arson, unlawful arrest and killings.
“Series of atrocities were committed by the soldiers including burning of Fulani homes, confiscation of motorcycles and other valuables, harassment and arbitrary arrests”.
The letter further alleged that about 15 Fulanis were arrested by soldiers between June 26 and July 31, and that the whereabouts of five of those arrested including Zakariyya Abdullahi, Wakili Musa Jauga, Suleiman Umar and Abdullahi Yakubu is still unknown.
The group also accused the police, youth and some traditional rulers of aiding attacks on Fulani herders.
MACBAN urged the federal government to constitute a panel of inquiry to investigate the “killing of Fulani people in Sanga Local Government” as well as arrest local chiefs found to have been involved in the killings. It also urged the NSA and defence minister to halt the “continuous harassment, arrest and burning of Fulani houses by soldiers”.
