Fulani group advocate livestock identification

A Fulani socio-cultural group, Cattle Breeders Joint Association of Nigeria (CABJANAI) has called for livestock identification and tracking as a means of ending the current spate of clashes involving herdsmen in the country.
In a communiqué after its meeting, the group said it seeks to promote cattle breeding management, facilitate control of livestock movements and adopt new measures aimed at livestock management in the country.
The communiqué signed by national coordinator of the group, Alhaji Hussaini Salisu Kachia said “we have resolved to support all government and private sector initiatives towards proper livestock identification and tracking.
“We also condemn in strong terms the attack on unsuspecting Nigerians under the guise of Fulani herdsmen; we therefore resolved to promote peace building campaigns among Fulani herdsmen and other peace loving Nigerians.”
