The Governing Council of Federal University Gashua (FUGA) has approved the promotions of 89 academic staff to various ranks, 129 senior non-teaching staff to various ranks and 24 junior staff to various senior positions.
Council also approved the promotions of 3 senior academics to the Rank of Readers following the receipt of favourable external assessment report on them.
A statement signed by the Head, Information and Protocol Unit, Adamu Saleh, said the council took the decision at its 23rd Regular meeting held recently to consider cases of promotions.
He said those promoted to the rank of Readers are, Dr. Mathias Ojo, Sociology department, Dr. Yunus Jibrin Hassan, Department of Islamic studies and Dr. Adekoyeni Oludare, Home Science and Management.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, congratulated the newly promoted staff and urged them to dedicate themselves to the services of the university in order to justify their promotions.
