Fuel queues: NSCDC deploys to filling stations, wants orderliness

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, has deployed officers and men of the corps to all the filling stations in the FCT to help maintain order and lessen obstruction of commuters and motorists.

The spokesperson of the command, Okomanyi Comfort, disclosed this on Saturday in a statement in Abuja.

Okomanyi said it was a part of the statutory responsibilities of the corps to assist in maintaining peace and order in the society.

She said sequel to the deployment, the FCT’s Commandant of the corps, Dr Peter Maigari, alongside the Head of Antivandal Unit, Deputy Commandant of Corps, Kehinde Oke and some armed personnel went around the territory to supervise the operation and monitor the activities in these stations.

Commandant Peter charged the officers present at each station to be civil and diligent as they ensure orderliness.

He also spoke with the managers, urging them to sell swiftly to enhance ease.

There have been long queues of motorists in the past weeks at most filling stations in the FCT as the scarcity of petrol persists.
