Fuel laden vehicle catches fire in Kano

A ‘Sharon’ vehicle laden with fuel jerrycans caught fire at the entrance of NNPC filling station at Club road, Murtala Muhammad Way in Kano.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle caught fire as it was about to go out of the filling station around 5:00pm on Tuesday.

Daily Trust learnt that while there was no life lost, the driver sustained minor injury.

Jafar Muhammad Ahmad popularly known as Sanjo Badawa, who spoke to our reporter said, “Honestly, motorcyclists were more than 300 inside, they refused to attend to us. They were just giving these guys (black market operators).

“One vehicle will buy fuel worth N50,000 alone taking too much time while others are waiting. They brought the fuel today around 11:00am but they started selling out the fuel by 5:00pm.”
