FRSC seeks quick response for accident victims by hospitals

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Anthony Uga, has called on hospitals to accord accident victims quick medical attention.

Mr Uga made the appeal during the corps’ 2023 third quarter workshop with the theme: “Partnership for improved road safety management in Ogun State: Short and long-term possibilities”, at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

He noted that government hospitals were really doing well in quick response to accident victims and further urged all hospitals to treat accident victims as a matter of urgency, saying that their lives could depend on it.

In his remarks, Dr Kunle Ashimi, the state’s Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), said that hospitals were often faced with challenges which sometimes rendered them ineffective in handling accident victims.

He stressed that the emergency units of some hospitals, especially government hospitals, were occupied with patients who were unable to pay their bills, making it uneasy for the facilities to quickly attend to emergencies.

He assured that the association would continue to partner with FRSC for the benefit of the people. (NAN)
