The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Benue State has expressed deep concern over the rising road crashes along the University of Agriculture Road in Makurdi, resulting in the death of many university students and other road users.
The state’s Sector Commander, Yakubu Mohammad, therefore, warned motorists against reckless driving, saying any offender caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He spoke Monday at a sensitisation campaign for commercial motorcyclists, tricycle riders and motorists operating at the SRS junction.
Mohammad said it became imperative to move against the reckless drivers to save lives.
He said the FRSC has partnered with Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University (JOSTUM) and transport unions to halt the road crashes.
He said the road crashes along the university road were often caused by reckless driving and total disregard to traffic rules by commercial motorcyclists, tricycle riders, and motorists.
He, therefore, urged the university management to regulate commercial motorcycle riders operating from the junction to the university community.
