The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano State Command, said it will deploy 1,820 personnel for the forthcoming Eid el-Fitr celebrations in a bid to ensure crash-free and smooth traffic flow during the period.
This is also as the Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) said it had concluded plans for the deployment of no fewer than 1,000 personnel across the state during the festive period.

The Sector Commander of the FRSC in Kano, Zubairu Mato, said the deployment would consist of 120 officers, 1250 marshals and 450 Special Marshals.
He further said, “Sixteen patrol vehicles, three mbulances and one heavy duty tow truck will also be deployed for the week-long operation which commences Tuesday May 11, 2021.”
The Managing Director of KAROTA, Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, on his part, warned that, “The agency will arrest and prosecute anyone who violates traffic laws during the season as some unscrupulous persons have made it a habit to engage in dangerous driving,” a statement by the agency’s spokesman, Nabilusi Abubakar, indicated.
