A player of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Football Club Abuja, Nura Suleiman on Tuesday, August 11 slumped and died during training in his home town Suleja, Niger State.
His death was confirmed by Emmanuel Okocha David, the Assistant Coach of FRSC FC who wrote on his Facebook account “With heavy heart, I wish to announce the death of one of our players (FRSC FC Abuja) by name Nura Suleiman who slump and gave up while training this evening at Suleja his hometown.
“May Almighty Allah forgive all his sins and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. RIP.” He wrote.
A team mate at FRSC FC, Nieketien Godfrey described the sudden death of Suleiman as shocking and painful.
He said the deceased will be missed by his team mates.
He said “Nura was a skilful striker with speed. He was also a good leader. We are really shocked by his sudden demise. We would miss him a lot.”
Some close associates said he had never complained of any sickness before going for training on Tuesday.
The former Potters FC Sulejah, Niger Tornadoes, Kaduna United and National U-23 player has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
