The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) will today commence the 2022 Zonal Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on Transparency and Accountability.
In a release by the Head, Strategic Communications Directorate of the FRC, Bede Ogueri Anyanwu, the program is in line with the mandate of the commission aimed at assisting the States to consolidate the ability to maintain credibility in public finance management.

With the theme: ‘Sustaining the Gains of Fiscal Transparency and Accountability in States’ the program will involve four geopolitical zones, namely North-East, North-Central, South-West, and South-South.
The program will commence with the North East Zone hosted by Adamawa, and will be declared open by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Victor Muruako.
The engagement is also expected to address the salient issue of borrowing by the Government of the Federation.
The target audiences are States Commissioners of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, and State Debt Management Official, State Auditors General, relevant Civil Society Organizations whose areas are transparency and fiscal governance, and State Fiscal Responsibility Commissions.
