The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a suspected fraudster, Amos Samuel, said to have been parading himself as an Air force lieutenant and defrauding people with fake appointment letters of recruitment into the military, police and paramilitary in the state.

The command’s  spokesman, SP Idrisu Kennedy, who disclosed the arrest of the suspect and other criminal gangs in a statement, said Samuel was arrested in a hotel in Akwanga.

He said exhibits found in his possession were letters of appointment of Customs Service, Nigeria Air force, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigerian Navy, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which he is suspected to have been using to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

Kennedy said investigations into the cases are in progress and that the suspects will soon be charged to court.

Kennedy also revealed the arrest of some armed robbery suspects in Nasarawa LGA, saying, “On the 17 of October 2018, based on a tip-off from the vigilante,one Salisu Bako, 25 years; Ali Ibrahim, 22 years and Moses Yakubu 22 years of no fixed addresses who robbed one Babangona and his wife of some valuables at Gunki town on 16/10/18 were arrested.”

He added that two locally fabricated pistols with two live cartridges were recovered from them. Also recovered were the items robbed from their victims.
