The presidents of France, Germany, India and Saudi Arabia have congratulated Nigeria for attaining 61 years of independence.
This was contained in separate statements they sent to President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in his felicitation message, said he had personal attachment with Nigeria, and called for a strengthened France, Nigeria relationship on all fronts.
In a telephone chat initiated by the outgoing German Chancellor, Angela Merkel with Buhari, she wished him greater successes in the challenging task of leading Nigeria and her about 200 million people.
President Ram Nath Kovind of India also wished President Buhari and Nigeria continued prosperity.
“The multifaceted Nigeria, Indian relations have further been expanded and strengthened by regular and cordial engagements at various levels”, presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina has said.
Also, the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, congratulated Buhari on the anniversary and wished him constant good health and happiness and the government and people of Nigeria, steady progress and prosperity.
