Four vigilante members have been arraigned before a magistrate court of No 15 of No Man’s Land in Kano state over victimizing a woman at Na’ibawa quarters.
The court prosecutor Jacob Yaduma told the court that one Habiba Abdullahi and three others, all of Na’ibawa quarters reported at Mariri police station that Usman Ado criminally conspired with Mohammed Dangwambe, Peter Handson, Balarabe Mohammed Sidi and others who are now at large, all of Sabuwar Abuja quarters Kano, criminally trespassed into the house of the complainant situated at Sabuwar Abuja and attacked her and other people who were living in the house with dangerous weapons such as cutlasses, swords and knives.
The court further heard that “As you entered the house you just beat them up as a result of which they sustained various degree of injuries. The victims were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where they received treatment and discharged later.”
All the accused persons pleaded not guilty to four count charge of criminal conspiracy, criminal house trespass causing grievous hurt and defamation of character contrary to section 97, 248, 348 and 392 of Penal Code Law.
The presiding judge Chief Magistrate Mukhtar Garba Dandago granted the accused bail and adjourned the case to 9th April, 2019 for hearing.
